TERMS & CONDITIONS

1.0 Who we are

1.1 The registered name of the business is Steel Stair Inspector Limited.  Our registered address is Unit 4 Wares Farm Redwall Lane Linton, Maidstone Kent ME17 4BB. VAT number 401147157. Registered in England 10632889. Email: enquiries@steelstairinspector.co.uk. Tel: 01622 820618.

1.2 We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time. Changes to these terms will take effect immediately on any orders placed, or contracts agreed, from that moment forwards.

1.3 These terms and conditions supersede any other terms and conditions provided by other parties for the purpose of the sale and supply of services.

2.0 Make a contract with us

2.1 When you book an inspection with us, you are making an offer for our services. We will send you an e-mail to confirm this. We will also send an email to confirm the date with you. This may be done separately, at a time when the inspection date has been agreed by both parties.

2.2 Once we have reviewed your order, we may e-mail you again to confirm that we accept your order, and that a contract has been made between us.

2.3 Whilst we try to be as accurate as possible, all information provided is provided in good faith.

2.4 This contract is covered by English law. 2.5 By placing an order with us, you agree to and accept these terms, as well as our privacy policy.

3.0 Quotations & Bookings

3.1 We offer our quotations by email so that everything is confirmed in writing. However, you can request a quotation by either contacting us through our website, calling our team on 01622 820618, or by sending us an email at enquiries@steelstairinspector.co.uk.

3.2 Promotional / discounted prices only apply during the period stated on our quotations.

4.0 Bookings

4.1 Available dates will be provided once you have accepted our quotation. We can give indications of dates beforehand, but these are not guaranteed until the booking is confirmed.

4.2 All prices quoted are in UK pounds. VAT is charged at the current rate set by the Bank of England.

4.3 Once your inspection has been booked, changes may lead to a delay in the date of any inspections taking place on the scheduled date.

5.0 Payments

5.1 A payment invoice will be sent to you at the time of the inspection report being send over. This will include any necessary information required for to make the payment.

5.2 Payment terms are 30 days nett monthly. On some occasions we may require payment in advance

5.3 Payments are only accepted by bank transfer.

5.4 For payments not received, we reserve the right to use all legal avenues to recover the debt. Any extra costs for this will be passed onto the debtor.

5.5 In the event of payments not being received, any certificates issued will be null and void. We will also contact the inspection address in writing to confirm the certificates are invalid and request any tags installed are removed and we will arrange a collection for them.

6.0 Inspection, Reports and Certificates

6.1 While inspection dates are booked, we cannot guarantee a time we will arrive as this can be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to the transport infrastructure. Also, as we book multiple inspections per day and the amount of time these take can vary on when we find, it is possible we get held up at an earlier booking.

6.2 We can advise of a time estimate prior to the day of the inspection, but this may change at any time before arrival. We can call prior to arriving if required, please inform us of this before the day of inspection.

6.3 On occasions where we become unable to attend a site due to delays, we will re-book you as soon as possible at a time convenient to you.

6.4 We do not accept liability for any consequential loss of profit or indirect losses for any delays in your inspections being completed on the expected date.

6.5 Reports on our inspections are usually completed within 10 working days.

6.6 Our certificates are provided to you at the same time as the report is sent, however steel structures that meet the requirement for certificates will have a tag installed on the structure showing that they are certified from that date. Our tags display both the date of the inspection, and the date that the certificate is due to expire as this can vary from six months to a maximum of five years.

6.7 Recommendations in our reports may indicate works that can extend the duration of the certificate when completed. Any works completed will extend the certificate to a maximum of five years from the original inspection date.

7.0 Cancellation

7.1 You can cancel your contract at any time up to 2 working days before the inspection is due. Cancellations within the 2 days before the inspection is due may incur a cancellation fee.

7.2 You do not have to give any reason for cancellation. However, a brief explanation will help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future.

7.3 We will refund all monies paid to us by you within 30 days, less any costs due under this contract.

8.0 Liability

8.1 We do not accept liability for any consequential loss of profit or indirect losses for any delays in your inspections being completed, or reports and certificates being issued.
